Browsing without registration

The wiki and the Public Depot itself both grant full read access to anonymous users. You do not need a registered account if you just want to download something from the Public Depot, browse the wiki, or anything else that does not involve submitting additions or modifications.

Registering for an account

To contribute to the Public Depot, you'll need to become a registered user. To apply, please send email to opensource@perforce.com, describing the tools, scripts, or documents you'd like to contribute. You must provide your full name, which we will use to assign your Perforce user ID. (E.g., if your name is Sammy Davis, Jr, your user ID in the Perforce Public Depot will be sammy_davis_jr.)

Logging in to Perforce

When you are logged in to Perforce with your registered Public Depot user ID, you will be able to submit files to your guest branch under the path "//guest/your_user_id/...". This directory will not be visible in the depot until after you have submitted files to it.

Logging in to the wiki

The ability to add and edit pages on the Public Depot wiki is reserved for registered Public Depot users. Once you have a registered Public Depot account, you may log in to the wiki using the same user ID and password that you use to log in to the Perforce server.

Changing your password

Use the p4 passwd command to change your password.
